About Us

My name is Tamara of Natty Fiber Arts. I have been happily crocheting for over 30 years and, most recently, became a weaver. I live and have my studio in beautiful Southern California, USA.

I love the creative process of handmade. Colors and texture are my driving inspirations. I love to put colors together from my yarn supply that 'captures' a certain emotion and patterns that lends texture to the finished pieces. Three important standards are: quality, uniqueness, and utility.

I love creating beautiful fabrics on the loom that you won’t find in bigger stores or crocheting something that I know is unique in the fact it is handmade.

Over these many years I fell in love with making blankets, no matter what season we are in. Several of my blankets have won ‘Best of Show’ awards in Los Angeles each time I had participated.  You will always find crocheted blankets on Natty Fiber Arts. You will also find woven items including shawls, scarves, linens, towels and table runners. Most of these are woven with fine cottons or cotton-linen blend, Tencel (a type of rayon), and fine wools.

My focus is to create beautiful and unique pieces every time but I do get my inspiration from other creators so will follow a pattern when I see something I ‘just have to make’. At the end of the day, it’s all fiber to me and I love working with it.

I hope you find enjoyment in the things I make for you! Thanks for stopping by Natty Fiber Arts!
